SILK SCARVES CUSTOMIZATION NEW ZEALAND

There is an idea behind every custom silk project. A painting that should be wearable. A student’s work that deserves a beautiful form. A gift that someone will actually keep. LS Silk NZ is the New Zealand partner that takes that idea seriously — from the first conversation to the finished piece in your hands.

We work with galleries, museums, artists, illustrators, schools, and corporate teams across New Zealand and Australia on custom silk scarf commissions. Every project begins with a conversation about what you are trying to make, not a form asking you to fill in specifications you may not know yet.

What we can make for you

Custom silk scarves, printed using acid dyes on 100% mulberry silk. Three fabrics: silk twill at 14mm (structured, classic, the cloth that Hermès built its name on), silk crêpe de chine at 14mm (fluid, matte, with extraordinary colour depth), and silk chiffon at 8mm (lightweight, sheer, and luminous). Square formats from 35 × 35cm up to 138 × 138cm. Long scarves at 45 × 200cm or 65 × 200cm. Skinny scarves at 9 × 100cm. Hand-rolled hems for premium retail and significant gifts. Machine-sewn hems for larger runs and institutional programmes. Woven labels, care cards, gift packaging.

Minimum orders start from around 50 pieces per design. Production and delivery to New Zealand takes six to ten weeks from confirmed brief.

Who we work with in New Zealand

Te Papa Tongarewa. Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. Govett-Brewster Art Gallery. City Gallery Wellington. The Suter Art Gallery in Nelson — where our African City collaboration with John Weeks’ painting brought a modernist masterpiece into the gift shop and onto the shoulders of art lovers across the country. Artists like Maggie Lam, whose hand-drawn illustrations of Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill became the Woodland Escape silk edition. Schools commissioning graduation gifts that students will keep for years. Corporate teams choosing silk because a silk scarf, unlike almost everything else that arrives in a branded box, gets worn.

What unites every client is the same instinct: that the thing they are making deserves a material equal to it.
